In each unit / room descriptions should nursing and midwifery work is clear and related to the care standards. Every nurse and midwife should understand what is expected by the organization for their deeds. Staff should have a broad view of the vision and mission of the organization, including policies and regulations. In general, the work will be developed based on standards and job descriptions for each position clinically.
Well-organized with a clear job description for each position will facilitate clinical managers / leaders assess the clinical performance of subordinates objectively and this can be used as the basis for promotional efforts of staff to higher levels, as well as inputs in the context of preparing a career plan in Indonesia.

Another thing that will be described in this paper is the workload equity, in which nurses and midwives will calculate the time spent in providing direct care, indirect and non-nursing to determine the percentage of the workload of nurses and midwives to direct care, indirect and non-nursing . Workload calculation results can be used as a valuable input to managers / leaders to consider the placement of each nurse and midwife in accordance with job descriptions owned. Expected that when the nurses and midwives to work in accordance with job descriptions based on agreed standards will have a positive impact with increased health services to the community

Definition
1. job description is a set of functions and tasks outlined responsibilities into work activities.
2. a written statement to all levels of clinical positions in a unit that reflects the functions, responsibilities and qualities required.
