Coffee industries’ situation out of Thailand
The consumption of coffee is spread across the world, western developed countries and some coffee producing countries are the main coffee consumption areas. Coffee is the most consumed drinking in the world, the Coffee acreage and annual production far ahead of other plants which can make into beverage, like tea, coco. In this case, we can find out the significance of coffee.

Europe is the center coffee consumption, Norway, Sweden and some northern of Europe coffee annual per capita consumption is near 13 kilogram, America  is 6 kilogram, other countries are less than 6 kilogram. In Asia, Japan is the biggest coffee consumed country, over 300000 tons per year. Europe is the main consuming regions of the international coffee market, its main raw material is purchased from Africa and South America; United States is an important country of purchase of the South American coffee, Japan absorb South Asia and other places’ coffee. 
Coffee industries’ situation inside Thailand
Even thought Thailand is not the major coffee produce region in Southeast Asia, but Thailand is a big consuming country among those Southeast Asia countries.  There are coffee shops everywhere, different styles and different tastes. So coffee industry is high competitive industry, is very hard to make significant effect to stand out from the competitors.

Thailand is a coffee nation, ranked fourth (after Vietnam, Indonesia and India) in Asia in annual raw coffee production. While there are many species of coffee trees in the world, only Arabica and Robusta have major economic significance, both of which are grown in Thailand.



At present, Thailand produces approximately:
50,000 - 80,000 tons of Robusta coffee, of which 40% (ca. 30,000 tons) are processed locally and about 60% (ca. 50,000 tons) is exported.
A few thousand tons of Arabica coffee, which are almost entirely processed locally. ( chiang mai, chiang rai , lampang, mae hong son )
