At least 310 people were killed in a massive earthquake measuring 8.9 on the Richter scale that shook Japan on Friday, which resulted in a large tsunami in the Pacific coast, according to police and press reports.
Japan National Police Agency said 110 people were confirmed dead and 350 missing, while 544 people were injured in the quake.
"The number of deaths that have yet to include 200-300 bodies were (reportedly) was found on the coast of Sendai,"said a spokesman for the agency.
