DEFINITIONS ProfessionThere are currently no agreement on the terms of the profession because there is no standard job / task that how that could be said as a profession. Some say that the profession is "a person of office even though the profession is not commercial". Traditionally there are 4 Professions that is known to medicine, law, education, and clergy.
ProfessionalismUsually understood as a quality that must be possessed by every good executive. The characteristics of professionalism:
1. Have high skills in a field and proficiency in the use of certain equipment required in the performance of duties related to the above areas
2. Have knowledge and experience and intelligence in analyzing a problem and sensitive in reading the situation quickly and appropriately and carefully in the best decisions on the basis of sensitivity
3. Have a forward-oriented attitude that has the ability to anticipate environmental developments that lay before him
4. Have self-sufficiency based on the belief in a personal capacity and is open to listen and respect other people's opinions, but careful in choosing the best for himself and his personal development
Characteristic ProfessionAccording to the article in the International Encyclopedia of education, there are 10 characteristics of a profession, namely:
1. An organized work area of intellectual types who continue to grow and expanded
2. An intellectual technique
3. Practical application of intellectual techniques in practical affairs
4. A long period of training and certification
5. Some of the standards and statement of ethics that can be held
6. The ability for leadership in the profession itself
7. Association of members of the profession who became a close group with a high quality of communication between members
8. Recognition as a profession
9. Professional attention to the use of responsible professional work
10. Close links with other Professions
